Chocolate Covered Strawberry Footballs

Whether you’re hosting a football party or plan to go to one, you’ll want to make these Chocolate Covered Strawberry Footballs! No matter which team you want to win, you’re sure to be cheering for this tasty game day snack. All you need to make this simple recipe are some fresh Florida strawberries and chocolate to dip them in!

  • 1 pound Florida strawberries
  • 2 cups dark or milk chocolate chips or chocolate wafers
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips or chocolate wafers

  1. Wash, drain, and pat your strawberries down with paper towels.
  2. Melt your chocolate wafers. You can do this easily in the microwave using a microwave-safe bowl, preferably wide and with tall sides. Heat the chocolate for 15 seconds at a time, and then stir. Repeat as necessary until the chocolate has melted.
  3. Skewer your strawberries, and then dip them in the chocolate. Swirl the strawberries in the chocolate just below their green tops to cover them completely.
  4. Refrigerate for approximately 15 minutes until the chocolate is set.
  5. Dip a skewer into white chocolate. Use the white-chocolate dipped skewer to draw lines onto your strawberry footballs. Begin by holding the skewer in place and rotating the strawberry until you have a line drawn around the top half of the strawberry. Repeat for the bottom half. Then, draw lines down the center to complete your strawberry footballs!
  6. Refrigerate for approximately 15 minutes until the chocolate is set.
  7. Enjoy your chocolate covered strawberry footballs!
