Strawberry Basil Lemonade
Can you believe it’s already halfway through May?! It seems like just days ago we were celebrating Fabulous Florida Strawberry Month. It’s hard to imagine how much has happened since then but here we are, nearing the end of spring and the start of another hot summer!
If you’re like me, you’re always looking for a delicious and refreshing way to cool off. Here in Florida our summers can get pretty intense!
There’s really nothing like a really good lemonade to do the job. I’ve shared a few lemonades in the past, even a Strawberry Lemonade Bar, but this is the first time I’ve shared this classic recipe. It’s a Florida Strawberry Basil Lemonade and it’s sure to keep you cool while tantalizing your taste buds.
Florida Strawberry Basil Lemonade
Ingredients
- 1 cup hulled strawberries
- 1/4 cup fresh basil
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup simple syrup or sugar
- 1 qt cold water
- Ice
Puree strawberries and basil in a food processor. You’re going to want to break down the basil just to the point it’s small enough to fit through a straw. Next we’ll pour the puree into a pitcher, add in the fresh-squeezed lemon juice, the simple syrup, 1 quart of water and ice.
That’s it! Now enjoy and stay cool.
Sounds yummy
It’s delicious!
