Nutrition on the Run – March is National Nutrition Month

We know that adults should be eating a minimum of five fresh fruits and vegetables each day. Seven is better and nine is divine! Think about this. At mealtime, half of your plate should be filled with fresh fruits and vegetables while one quarter should be reserved for a healthy starch that’s rich in complex carbohydrates, natural fiber and protein.

So, what should be on the quarter of your plate that’s left? Lean protein from sources such as fish, poultry, eggs, beef or dried beans. Remember, just eight fresh strawberries supply your calcium needs for one day. You can easily meet this nutritional requirement on the run. How great is that?
