Magazine Editors See Red

A handful of national media – The Food Network, Woman’s Day, Every Day with Rachael Ray, a Taste of Home, Family Circle and Woman’s World celebrated the 2011-2012 Florida strawberry harvest in their offices and test kitchens the first week of December.

The Association sent fresh-from-the-field Florida winter strawberries to the first five (out of a dozen or so) publications who responded to an offer from FSGA in September. We promised to send berries from the first pickin’ and we did just that.

Since magazines have long-lead requirements, it is our hope they will consider showcasing our strawberries during the height of the season – February.

I just wanted to thank you for the flat of Florida strawberries that just arrived. They are absolutely delicious and the strawberry aroma is intoxicating! We are all enjoying them and will definitely keep them in mind for future stories.
