Florida Strawberries & Weathercasters!

TV meteorologists and news teams throughout the East Coast will be unwrapping and sampling baskets of luscious Florida winter strawberries courtesy of the Florida Strawberry Growers Association.

This media promotion is just one of the ways FSGA is celebrating Fabulous Florida Strawberry Month in February. The team at the FSGA offices in Dover, Fla., packaged fresh-picked strawberries and copy points, including interesting facts about the berries, for weathercasters to share on-air the week of Feb. 3.

The goal is to highlight the availability of the amazing fruit in the winter months when most of its market area is experiencing snow, ice, and sub-freezing temperatures. The Florida strawberry harvest begins in late November and runs through mid-March.
