Our featured chef this week is up-and-comer Chef Eric Minnich, who hails from the venerable Johnson & Wales University with a degree in Culinary Nutrition. We discovered Eric during our Restaurant Recognition and Rewards program.
I love serving Florida strawberries because nothing competes with a lush, flavor gushing, Florida strawberry that is sure to bring Florida sunshine to any occasion.
Growing up in San Francisco Bay Area and being a part of a culinary-oriented family is the source of Minnich’s passion for food. He explained that both of his parents cooked regularly, his father ran a breakfast and lunch diner, where Minnich bussed tables. When Minnich wasn’t too busy as captain of his mens volleyball team, he worked at several restaurants and hotels line cooking and banquet cooking throughout school gaining a passion for food science and product development.
“I grew up loving to cook and when I graduated college I knew thats what I wanted to do was work in the culinary field,” says Minnich. That’s just what he plans to do, he is about to graduate from Johnson & Wales University and in June will be starting a internship with Heinz foods, working in the test kitchens.
