Blanca Aldaco is the founder, owner and operator of Aldaco’s Mexican Cuisine, Stone Oak in San Antonio, Texas.
A native of Guadalajara, Mexico, Blanca’s name is synonymous with authentic Mexican cuisine. Her contributions have elevated the taste and style of the city’s fare and have helped bring national recognition to San Antonio as the undisputed capital of Mexican food.
Blanca exhibits a strong passion for the quality and authenticity of her food. Last month, Blanca shared her recipe for Florida Strawberry Margaritas.
“I love strawberries and I love margaritas. Be sure to use a high quality tequila like Partida Tequila Reposado and of course, Florida-grown strawberries. In the winter, I source fresh strawberries from Florida and freeze them for use all summer long in margaritas for our restaurant patrons, Charlie (my husband) and me.”
Oh, and I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that Blanca knows her margaritas. Over the last fifteen years, Blanca has won over thirty awards, many of them for her amazing margaritas and cocktails. In 2010 alone, she took home four trophies:
- 2010 Best Rivertini – Rivertini Azteca (San Antonio River Foundation)
- 2010 Latina Magazine – Entrepreneur of the Year (San Antonio, Texas)
- 2010 Best Margarita – People’s Choice Margarita – Margarita Pour Off
- 2010 1st Runner Up Margarita – Margarita Pour Off
Be sure to check out Blanca’s restaurant the next time you are in San Antonio and try out her recipe for Florida Strawberry Margaritas.
