Chef Jennifer Denlinger

Chef Jennifer Denlinger is a native Floridian and has enjoyed the joys of food since she was a young child. She learned to cook from her father, crediting her grandfather with providing them fresh fruits and vegetables from his garden.

Chef Denlinger joined Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in 2003. One of her greatest passions is teaching students all about food and sharing her knowledge of cooking.

We first met Chef Denlinger when she attended our first annual Florida Strawberry Harvest Tour this March. She joined several other chefs touring strawberry fields, farms, cooling and shipping facilities in Hillsborough County. Shortly after, Chef Denlinger invited us to her classroom to give a presentation to her students on behalf of the Florida Strawberry Growers Association.

We asked why Chef Denlinger loves serving Florida strawberries and she came back with this little ditty.

Florida Strawberries are so Sweet
Florida Strawberries I love to eat
In a salad, or jam in a jar
Florida Strawberries, the best by far!

Chef Denlinger has published articles in California Food and Wine and Vegetarian Times. Currently, she has a bi-weekly food newsletter “Food For Thought” that is emailed out to faculty, staff, and students.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be posting a few recipes from Chef Denlinger including the delicious Florida Strawberry Onion Relish she shared with us at Le Cordon Bleu.
